About MetroReport.uk
MetroReport.uk is the online publication of Metro Report Media Ltd., a Private Limited Company registered in the United Kingdom. We provide independent, fact-based news, analysis, commentary and in-depth reporting on UK city life and urban affairs. Our mission is to help readers understand how local decisions, public services and social change affect everyday life in British cities.
We believe that informed citizens build stronger communities. That is why we focus on the issues that shape metropolitan Britain: public transport, housing, local politics, the economy, working life, public safety, culture and current affairs. Every article we publish is reviewed by a human editor before it goes live. Sensitive topics — those involving vulnerable individuals, ongoing investigations or potential reputational harm — receive additional scrutiny from our fact-checking team.
Our Coverage and Audience
We cover the stories that matter to people who live and work in Britain’s cities. Our reporting spans metropolitan news, local authority decisions, infrastructure projects, transport policy, housing developments, community services, education, healthcare, public safety and cultural events. Whether you are a commuter, a councillor, a campaigner or simply a resident trying to understand what is happening in your neighbourhood, we aim to provide the context and detail you need.
Our readers include professionals in local government, transport, housing and urban planning, as well as engaged citizens who follow developments in their city and want to hold decision-makers accountable. We do not publish clickbait, fluff or unsourced opinion. Every piece carries a clear editorial line and is attributable to a named journalist or the editorial team.
How We Work
Our editorial process is designed to ensure accuracy, fairness and transparency. All content — including news, analysis, commentary and sponsored material — is reviewed by a human editor before publication. Articles on sensitive subjects, such as crime, social care, commercial disputes or allegations of misconduct, go through an additional layer of fact-checking and source verification led by our Standards & Fact-Checking Lead, Marcus Ellery.
We maintain a formal editorial policy that sets out our principles for source use, corrections, ethical guidelines and quality assurance. You can read the full document at /editorial-policy/. Our fact-checking standards and verification procedures are detailed at /fact-checking-policy/. We also publish a dedicated corrections policy at /corrections-policy/ and a sources & standards guide at /sources/.
Digital tools, including automation and artificial intelligence, may support research, editing, formatting and content review. However, no automated system makes final editorial decisions; all published editorial content is reviewed by a human editor before publication. Our use of such tools is transparent and subject to the same editorial standards as any other part of the newsroom.

Our Commitments
- Independence. We maintain a strict separation between editorial and commercial operations. Sponsored content is always clearly labelled, and no advertiser or partner can influence reporting, story selection or editorial judgement.
- Accuracy. Every story is fact-checked before publication. Errors are corrected promptly and transparently in accordance with our corrections policy, which is published at /corrections-policy/.
- Transparency. We disclose our ownership, funding sources, editorial policies and use of AI tools openly. Readers can always find out who wrote a story, who edited it and how we verified it.
- Accountability. We hold ourselves to the same standards we apply to the public officials and institutions we cover. Complaints are handled seriously, and we publish a named contact for editorial concerns.
- Public service. Our journalism exists to inform citizens, not to maximise clicks or revenue. We prioritise stories that help readers understand and engage with the urban issues that affect their lives, their communities and their cities.
