Newsletter
MetroReport.uk publishes a curated weekly digest of its reporting on city life and urban affairs across the United Kingdom. The newsletter, the MetroReport Weekly Briefing, delivers a selection of the most important articles, analysis and commentary from the previous seven days. Each edition covers metropolitan news, local politics, public transport, housing, the economy, working life, public safety and culture. It is designed for readers who want to stay informed about the local decisions, public services and social change that affect everyday life in British cities.
What the briefing contains
Every weekly edition includes:
- Summaries of key news stories and in-depth reporting from our correspondents
- Direct links to full articles on MetroReport.uk
- Editorial context and notes from the team, including analysis from the Urban Affairs Editor and Transport Correspondent
- Highlights of upcoming investigations and planned coverage
- Occasional data-driven pieces and special features
The newsletter covers the same scope as the website: urban development, transport and infrastructure, housing policy, public services, community issues, safety, education, healthcare and current affairs. All content is produced by our editorial team and reviewed in line with our editorial policy and sources and standards. Any sponsored content included in a newsletter will be clearly labelled as such, consistent with the funding disclosures on our ownership and funding page.
Frequency
The newsletter is sent weekly, typically on Friday afternoons. In addition, we publish special editions to mark major events, policy announcements or the conclusion of an investigation. These occasional editions supplement the weekly schedule and are sent to all subscribers unless they choose to opt out of non-regular mailings. Special editions may also include breaking news alerts when a story of significant public interest develops between weekly editions.
Who curates it
The newsletter is curated by the full editorial team under the supervision of Clara Whitfield, Editor-in-Chief and Responsible Publisher. Managing Editor Daniel Mercer oversees the selection and sequencing of articles each week. Amara Hughes, Urban Affairs Editor, and Elliot Fraser, Transport and Infrastructure Correspondent, contribute context and highlights from their beats. Each edition is reviewed by Marcus Ellery, Standards and Fact-Checking Lead, before distribution to ensure accuracy and adherence to our editorial standards. How to subscribe
Subscription is free and open to anyone. Until our online signup form launches, you can subscribe by sending an email to contact@metroreport.uk with the subject line “Subscribe”. Your email address will be added to our newsletter distribution list. We will notify all existing subscribers when the signup form becomes available and provide instructions for managing your preferences online.
We are committed to protecting your privacy. Our privacy policy explains how we collect, store and use personal data. Your email address will be used only for sending the newsletter and related administrative communications (such as confirmation of subscription and occasional updates about changes to the service). We will never share your data with third parties for marketing purposes. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of each newsletter email; your address will be removed promptly.
