Ownership & Funding
Ownership
MetroReport.uk is owned and operated by Metro Report Media Ltd., a private limited company registered in England and Wales (company no. 16258374). The company’s registered address is 9 Dallington Street, 3rd Floor, London EC1V 0BQ, United Kingdom.
Metro Report Media Ltd. is wholly independent. No external shareholders, investors or parent organisations have any editorial influence over the content published on MetroReport.uk. All editorial decisions are made solely by the editorial team, in accordance with our Editorial Policy. The company has no ownership ties to political parties, public authorities, property developers, transport operators or any other entity that could create a conflict of interest with our public-interest reporting.
Funding Model
MetroReport.uk is funded through a combination of:
- Advertising – display, native and programmatic advertising served on our website and in our newsletters.
- Commercial partnerships – arrangements with organisations that share our interest in urban affairs, such as local government bodies, think tanks and civic initiatives.
- Sponsored content – clearly labelled articles or features produced in collaboration with a commercial partner. All sponsored or otherwise commercial material is marked with a prominent disclosure (e.g. “Sponsored”, “Paid partnership” or “In association with”) at the top of the page, so readers can always distinguish it from independent editorial content.
No funding source – whether advertiser, partner or sponsor – can dictate, suppress or alter editorial coverage. The editorial team retains full control over all content decisions. For details on how we maintain this separation, see our Editorial Independence Guarantees.
Editorial Independence Guarantees
Metro Report Media Ltd. operates under a strict firewall between its commercial operations and its editorial functions. The Editor‑in‑Chief and Responsible Publisher, Clara Whitfield, has final authority over all published material and is accountable only to the company’s board – which has no role in day‑to‑day editorial decisions. Our Editorial Policy sets out the principles of independence, accuracy and fairness that guide every story we publish. Sponsored content never influences news coverage, opinion pieces, analysis or any other editorial content.
Governance
Ultimate editorial responsibility rests with Clara Whitfield, Editor‑in‑Chief & Responsible Publisher. She oversees publication decisions, editorial policy, source review, corrections and ethical standards. Clara is supported by a dedicated team of editors and reporters, listed on our Our Team page. The company’s directors have no involvement in editorial matters, and no individual or organisation outside the newsroom can veto or request changes to editorial content.
Transparency Commitments
We believe transparency is fundamental to trust. Every page on MetroReport.uk includes an imprint link to this Ownership & Funding page, along with direct contact routes for the editorial team. We publish clear Sources & Standards guidelines, a Corrections Policy and a Fact‑Checking Policy. Readers can reach us at any time via our Contact page or by emailing the relevant team directly.
